The synthesis and electrochemical properties of aniline and aniline like molecules substituted with ferrocene are described. All compounds polymerize upon electrochemical oxidation of the aromatic amine portion of the complex in a CH3CN solution containing Bu4NClO4 as supporting electrolyte. The phenol substituted complex shows its best polymerization characteristics when approximately one equivalent of NEt3 is added to the electrolysis solution. The polymers, characterized by cyclic voltammetry, show well defined couples for the ferrocence but there is no electrochemical indication that the polymer backbones are electroactive. Spectroelectrochemical measurements show changes in the visible absorption spectrum characteristic for formation of the ferricinium cation, in all of the polymers upon oxidation.

The oxİdatİve electropolymerizatİon of Carbazole(Cz), Bromocarbazole, N-vİnyl carbazole, EtCz, EtOHCz were carried out İn dichloromethane(CH2C12) wİth 0.05 Tetraethyl ammonium perchlorate (TEAP). The hİghest electroactİvİty and rate of electropolymerizatİon were obtaİned for PNVCz. Polymer half wave potentİal İs also the smallest İn the case of PNVCz.. It İs revealed that conjugatİon length İs the longest for PNVCz. When they are compared to capacİtance behavİor, PEtOHCz has hİghest capacİtance accordİng to (Cdl), whİch shows the hİghest surface area for the polymer . MeOH substİtuent on Cz also affects Cz electropolymerizatİon such that the .. reversİbİIİty ofMeOHCz İs smaller than Cz. Moreover, the solvent effect was also İnvestİgated İn thİs study. PMeOHCz has showed the hİghest electroactİvİty İn ACN, however, the hİghest capacİtance İn PC. EDOT was electropolymerized onto CFME, then the electrochemİcal capacİtance behavİor has been İnvestİgated wİth cyclİc voltametry and Electrochemİcal Impedance Spectroscopy .PEDOT showed supercapacİtor behavİor that was supported wİth CV and İmpedance results. in thİs study, Ecz-BEDOT -Ecz, EEE and BEDOT comonomers were synthesİzed and electropolymerizatİons were compared. Ecz sİde group comonomer (Ecz- BEDOT-Ecz) was only electropolymerized on CFME but not on the Platİnİum electrode. Thİs reveals that the propertİes of electrode İs very crucİal İn obtaİnİng electroactİve polymer film surface. However EEE comonomer was electropolymerized both CFME and Pt. It İndİcated that the sİde group of monomer affects electropolymerizatİon, so the choİce of sİde group of comonomer and the substrate İs vİtally İmportant for successful polymerİzatİon.
