Book Summary:

The Pyramid Texts are the oldest body of extant literature from ancient Egypt. First carved on the walls of the burial chambers in the pyramids of kings and queens of the Old Kingdom, they provide the earliest comprehensive view of the way in which the ancient Egyptians understood the structure of the universe, the role of the gods, and the fate of human beings after death. Their importance lies in their antiquity and in their endurance throughout the entire intellectual history of ancient Egypt. This volume contains the complete translation of the Pyramid Texts, including new texts recently discovered and published. It incorporates full restorations and readings indicated by post-Old Kingdom copies of the texts and is the first translation that presents the texts in the order in which they were meant to be read in each of the original sources.

Book Summary:

They appear in the first pages of the Bible, sons of God who coupled with mere mortals before and after the Flood. They are the fallen angels and their children--the Nephilim--who are also the true builders of the pyramids and other great monuments of ancient history. The Truth Behind Myth In The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse, author Patrick Heron examines ancient texts from Genesis to the Book of Enoch to Revelations to once and for all establish the true identity of this mysterious, lost race of giant beings. Are they angels? Genetic monsters? Are they characters of fable and myth? Are they still among us? Within these pages the answers are finally revealed. Solving The Riddle Of The Pyramids The identity of the Nephilim firmly in hand, Patrick Heron takes his research deeper, using science and an examination of age-old prophecies to discover the true meaning of the pyramids. His astonishing findings address the importance of the pyramid shape and its diabolical aim to supplant the City of God. And last but not least, once the riddle of the pyramids is solved, its significance in helping to navigate the coming Apocalypse is fully illuminated. Patrick Heron was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1952, and has a B.S. and M.A. in Business Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. At the age of 24, he began his Christian walk following an epiphany he experienced while reading the Bible. In 1997, having recently become interested in Bible prophecy concerning the "end times," Patrick published his best-selling book Apocalypse Soon. He currently resides in Dublin with his family and is not associated with any particular church or denomination.

Book Summary:

'One of the most revelatory sports books of the year' SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY 'Masterful ... it could be the best thing to have happened to English football in years' TIME OUT 'Gloriously readable, eccentric and informative' METRO In INVERTING THE PYRAMID, Jonathan Wilson pulls apart the finer details of the world's game, tracing the global history of tactics, from modern pioneers right back to the beginning when chaos reigned. Along the way, he looks at the lives of great players and thinkers who shaped the sport and probes why the English, in particular, have 'proved themselves unwilling to grapple with the abstract'. This fifth-anniversary edition of a football modern classic has been fully updated to include an investigation of the modern-day Barcelona and how their style of play developed from Total Football, which itself was an evolution of the Scottish passing game invented by Queens Park and taken on by Tottenham in the 1930s. It also analyses different styles in the early British game and the changing mentality of South American football in the 1970s, as well as looking at the birth of the 3-5-2 system so prevalent today.

Book Summary:

Pyramid Algorithms presents a unique approach to understanding, analyzing, and computing the most common polynomial and spline curve and surface schemes used in computer-aided geometric design, employing a dynamic programming method based on recursive pyramids. The recursive pyramid approach offers the distinct advantage of revealing the entire structure of algorithms, as well as relationships between them, at a glance. This book-the only one built around this approach-is certain to change the way you think about CAGD and the way you perform it, and all it requires is a basic background in calculus and linear algebra, and simple programming skills. * Written by one of the world's most eminent CAGD researchers * Designed for use as both a professional reference and a textbook, and addressed to computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians, theoreticians, and students alike * Includes chapters on Bezier curves and surfaces, B-splines, blossoming, and multi-sided Bezier patches * Relies on an easily understood notation, and concludes each section with both practical and theoretical exercises that enhance and elaborate upon the discussion in the text * Foreword by Professor Helmut Pottmann, Vienna University of Technology

Book Summary:

For centuries, man has puzzled over the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza. How was it possible to break up, process and transport a total of 6 million tonnes of heavy stones, making up a total of 2.3 million cubic metres of stone, and putting them together to make a structure of such dimensions during the reign of just one pharaoh 4500 years ago? These technical questions will be physically answered in this paper with reference to relevant archaeological and Egyptological scientific knowledge. The Greek historian Herodotus passed on the key to the wonder of pyramid construction, according to which the Egyptian pyramids were built with “machines" made of "wooden pieces". The paper at hand is the first that manages to reconstruct the machines described by Herodotus. The technique was mathematically proven and tested on a 1:5 scale model.
